Fuse Alliance Renews Popular IDCEC CEU Epic Fail: The Problem of Moisture and Flooring
Fuse Alliance, a Member-owned organization of professional commercial flooring contractors, announced today that the organization has renewed its popular CEU that helps commercial interior design professionals identify and resolve moisture issues in flooring installations. The course, approved by the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) and its member organizations, is entitled “Epic Fail: The Problem of Moisture and Flooring.” The course includes sections on understanding concrete and moisture, identifying problems leading to flooring failure resulting from the presence of excess moisture, explaining reliable moisture testing, and making a plan of action for preventing or remediating concrete moisture issues.
“We are delighted to renew this important CEU for the commercial interior design community,” said Geoff Gordon, executive director for Fuse Alliance. “Moisture issues in flooring, one of the biggest challenges that the commercial interior design industry faces, have become even more challenging over the last couple of years. We believe this is because there has never been a time where more new products and product types are being introduced, and the industry is moving to hard surface products that are more sensitive to subfloor moisture than soft surface products. Because the flooring contractors in Fuse Alliance work with all types of flooring every day, we are well-positioned to help commercial interior designers navigate this complex issue.”
Fuse Alliance originally launched this CEU in early 2017 and has been very popular with interior design professionals. The CEU is approved by American and Canadian committee members from IDCEC organizations including: the American Society of Interior Designers, Interior Designers of Canada, the Interior Design Educators Council, the International Interior Design Association, and the National Kitchen & Bath Association. Members of all groups are eligible to receive one contract hour of continuing education credit by taking the course. The course is also approved for one learning unit (LU) through the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The program can be completed online or a Fuse Member will be happy to present the course to design firms or other product specifier groups.
